BLUE EARTH

BLUE EARTH addresses our global climate and environmental crises threatening life on earth urgently. The sculpture consists of a five diameter circular steel structure, covered with 3000 lights and 10.000 pieces/400 kg recycled blue plastic. The acryllic floor is made of 100% recycled Greencast plastic. For three months local citizens have sorted their blue recycling plastic in containers at four recycling stations, allocated to the project. 25 young volunteers from 15 countries and 4 continents have spend their summer co-creating the sculpture at artist Maj D's home in Odsherred, Denmark.

A circular project of tomorrow

BLUE EARTH is built to travel to any destination to spread environmental awareness in collaboration with partners all over the world, working for a better future for our planet.

Cyclic form, cyclic journey and cyclic materials

The circular shape and the traveling nature of the sculpture corresponds with the re-cycling of material in the artwork as well as the re-actualization of the artwork in new contexts
