Thalia's Mirror (2026) is a chandelier in three parts consisting of a 2,5 diameter central chandelier and two associated wall hanged chandeliers on each side. The work was a commission from the theatre, Folketeateret, in the heart of Copenhagen as part of a comprehensive renovation of the theathre's foyer.
Thalia is the muse of comedy in Greek mythology. The light installation Thalia’s Mirror consists of recycled materials, including objects from the history of the theatre. In the work, the objects take on a new meaning, as in a new “play”.
The work creates reflections and thus the experience changes character depending from where you look at it. At the same time, the viewer stands face to face with herselves as part of the work. In this way, the work creates a reference to the theater as a mirror of ourselves and our time in ever-new representations.
